Duck Dynasty fans have watched the Robertson family throughout the years, including a revival series. Recently, series stars Willie and Korie Robertson talked about what it’s been like being part of the long-running franchise. In particular, they touched on what kept the series going behind the scenes.
Duck Dynasty‘s Willie & Korie Robertson Recently Appeared On A Podcast Together
Viewers were introduced to Willie and the Robertson family thanks to the reality series, Duck Dynasty. The series originally aired on A&E from 2012 to 2017 and focused on the Duck Commander duck call business, founded by the late Phil Robertson.
In 2025, it was announced that the series would be a follow-up: Duck Dynasty: The Revival. This series focuses on Willie and Korie Robertson, their children, and their grandchildren in Louisiana.
Willie and Korie recently appeared on The Sage Steele Show podcast. The host and ESPN alum admitted to having missed the initial Duck Dynasty craze due to work commitments, but shared she appreciated getting to know Korie and Willie.
As fans know, Willie, Phil Robertson’s son, and Korie married in 1992. They share six children together and multiple grandchildren.
During the discussion, the couple noted that TV fame could be a ride, but it inspired them to hold onto their faith. In fact, they shared that they felt they could use their position to promote a positive influence through television.
Willie Felt That His Faith Was Stronger Today Than It Was Before The Show
Korie shared, “I heard a speaker one time, he was talking about how it used to be like school, education, the church, the government, like all these kinds of things had a similar kind of effect on people. He’s like, ‘Now, all these things are like tiny hills in the shadow of entertainment because of all the time we spend consuming entertainment today, podcasts and all of that.”
Korie continued, noting that her family began to embrace their position to “point people to Jesus.” She also noted that some people are scared of entertainment because people view it as something potentially dark.

Willie Robertson also noted that if they decided to leave the show, another one could take its place, potentially one without a positive message. He added, “If you think about television as we used to think about it, like there’s only 24 hours and everybody — ESPN’s competing with A&E, and they’re competing with ABC and CBS. And so you’ve got only so much [room]. So, we looked at it like, ‘Well, most of it’s garbage or dark or just, you know,’ and so we thought, ‘If not us, who else will this be?’”
The couple did admit to some issues that the show has brought to the family. In particular, they noted that people used the show to figure out where they went to church and would try to meet them there. Despite this, Willie felt that his own faith is stronger than it was back then, especially considering how simple his life was back then.
