The Edmonton Elks have signed four American players, including receiver Ifeoluwa ‘Ife’ Adeyi and defensive backs Ike Brown, Ladarius Tennison, and Jeremiah Walker.

Adeyi played collegiately at Sam Houston State where he made 164 receptions for 2,312 yards and 19 touchdowns over 54 games. The five-foot-ten, 175-pound native of Mansfield, Texas signed with the Philadelphia Eagles after going unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft, though he was released at the conclusion of training camp.

Brown most recently played for the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL, where he made 17 total tackles, two interceptions, and seven pass breakups over eight games. The six-foot, 190-pound defender previously had stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and Buffalo Bills, though he didn’t see any regular-season action with either team.

The native of Tampa, Fla. played collegiately at Florida International University where he made 102 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions, and 29 passes defended over 41 games with the Panthers.

Tennison played collegiately at Auburn University, Ole Miss, and the University of Central Florida. He was named a first-team All-SEC with the Rebels in 2023. The five-foot-ten, 198-pound defender recorded 169 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, four pass knockdowns, two fumble recoveries, and one interception over 60 games.

The native of Rockledge, Fla. signed with the Indianapolis Colts after going unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft and made one tackle over three preseason games but didn’t make the team’s final roster.

Walker signed with the Chicago Bears after going unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft and made four tackles over three preseason games, though he was released at the conclusion of training camp. The six-foot, 195-pound native of Houston, Texas played collegiately at Stephen F. Austin University where he made 188 total tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, and 25 passes defended over 54 games.

The Edmonton Elks were one of the CFL’s most active teams in free agency with key signings including quarterback Taylor Powell, receivers Austin Mack and Joe Robustelli, offensive lineman Coulter Woodmansey, and defensive lineman Malik Carney. The team’s main departures included quarterback Tre Ford (Hamilton Tiger-Cats), receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. (Hamilton Tiger-Cats), and defensive lineman Jake Ceresna (Winnipeg Blue Bombers).

The Elks hold the third overall pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. All CFL training camps are scheduled to open on May 10. Edmonton will play its first preseason game against the B.C. Lions on Saturday, May 23 and its first regular-season game against the Ottawa Redblacks on Saturday, June 6.

In 2025, Edmonton finished fifth in the West Division standings with a 7-11 record, missing the playoffs for the fifth straight season.
