Actress Raven-Symoné has had a storied career, from her own sitcom to even being a co-host on The View. Through it all, she has often shared her own life’s story with fans. Recently, she opened up about surgeries she was made to undergo in her past. During the share, she also revealed a way she hoped to positively influence others in a similar position.
Raven-Symoné Recently Sat Down For A Chat With The Shade Room
Raven-Symoné, who started her career as a child actress, has been introduced to viewers through a number of roles. This includes The Cosby Show and her own Disney Channel sitcom, That’s So Raven, which was eventually followed up by the sequel series, Raven’s Home.
Throughout her career, Raven has also been given a platform to share her story with fans. In particular, she was a co-host on The View from 2015 to 2016, which earned her two Emmy nominations. More recently, she and her spouse, Miranda Maday, have hosted their own podcast, “Tea Time with Raven and Miranda,” since 2024.
Recently, the actress and media personality sat down with “The Shade Room.” During the conversation, she weighed in on various cosmetic procedures she underwent, even before she was an adult.
The Actress Is Also Currently Working On A Memoir
Raven-Symoné touched on two breast reductions she had as a minor, noting, “I didn’t ask for the first one, okay, and I didn’t ask for the second one.” She added, however, “I did ask for the lipo.” When asked about other factors concerning the two surgeries, she added, “It wasn’t forced, but there was manipulation at hand.”
The star then looked back at how she was talked about, and to, over her figure. She continued, “I can sit here with a chip on my shoulder about, y’all dragged me to the Gods when I was thick back in the day and now it’s the best thing in the world. It’s also how to take care of those who came before us, so we aren’t bitter b*tches.”
Throughout the interview, Raven also honored various other figures in the industry. In particular, she paid tribute to the late Lee Thompson Young, who appeared on The Famous Jett Jackson. This was in reference to the viral “Disney Channel Mount Rushmore” meme, in which people choose the stars they felt defined the network.
In addition, the actress is currently working on a memoir detailing her life growing up in Hollywood. This book also aims to help other people growing up in the public eye to navigate similar issues.
