Oprah Winfrey Got Many Fans Talking After Appearing With Gayle King At Paris Fashion Week

Winfrey first became known to many through her long-running talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran out of Chicago from 1985 to 2011. Following this, she launched her own network, OWN.

Over the years, Winfrey has become such a prominent media figure that she has even been dubbed “Queen of All Media.” Continuing to make appearances throughout the years, she recently made a few headlines after appearing alongside Gayle King at Paris Fashion Week.

Oprah’s appearance got many people talking on social media. Many fans complimented the star on how young she looked. Others were less than kind, commenting in particular about a slow, careful walk she gave during the proceedings.

In fact, Winfrey herself has addressed a few of the comments she’s gotten on social media. During a recent appearance, she explained that her slow walk, which saw Gayle King trail behind her, was partly due to wearing non-prescription sunglasses and being unable to see during the moment.

In addition, many fans online have commented on Winfrey’s slimmer figure at the event. Thanks to this, the star found herself to speculation that she was using GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, such as Ozempic. This picked up when footage from Paris Fashion Week was shared on social media, especially a clip of Winfrey arriving at the Chloé show.

Winfrey Previously Discussed Ozempic Around The Time Of Her 70th Birthday

As one user wrote on TikTok, ““Ozempic working even when [you’re] not.” Some people even attributed Oprah’s viral walk to the drug.

As mentioned, Winfrey’s comments reiterated that any issues seen in Paris were simply due to being unable to see. She explained, “I didn’t know where I was walking. I could not see.” She also recalled telling security, “’I can’t see. Tell me where I’m walking.’”

However, the star has been open about taking Ozempic in the past. In 2023, just ahead of her 70th birthday, she shared, “The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier in my lifetime feels like relief.”

Speaking with People at the time, Winfrey maintained that something that helps people manage their health wasn’t something she would be made to feel ashamed of. She continued, “Like redemption. Like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for. I’m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself.”
