Amid a frantic weekend of wireless deals, Videotron’s Fizz Mobile brought back its ‘Discovery’ discount, offering 25 per cent off plans for new activations.
Currently, the Discovery discount is available in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and B.C. — sorry, Quebec, you’re being left out of this one. Moreover, the discount only lasts for 12 months, but it appears you can apply it to most of the plans Fizz offers.
Fizz’s plans are different from most Canadian providers, offering customers more options for tweaking and customizing plans, including picking provincial, national, or Canada/U.S. coverage, 4G or 5G data, data amount, and more. We listed some common options below, but you can also head to Fizz’s website and slot in your own options to see what price you’ll pay.
- 40GB 5G national with unlimited texts, minutes, and voicemail: $26.25/mo.
- 100GB 5G national with unlimited texts, minutes, and voicemail: $29.25/mo.
- 100GB 5G CAN/US with unlimited texts, minutes, and voicemail: $30.75/mo.
- 20GB 4G national with unlimited texts, minutes, and voicemail: $22.50/mo.
- 10GB 4G national with unlimited texts, minutes, and voicemail: $20.25/mo.
It’s worth noting that the Discovery discount will apply automatically to your bill every month for 12 months starting the day you activate your SIM card. If you change your plan, the discount will continue for the remainder of the 12 months. At the end of the 12-month period, the discount will expire, and your plan will return to its regular price.
Fizz launched 5G service in December 2025, and in January, it started offering a free eSIM trial, allowing people to test out the Fizz network before making the switch.
Moreover, the wireless provider previously offered a Discovery discount in December. However, at the time, it was 50 per cent off for customers in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and B.C., while those in Quebec got a 25 per cent discount.
Fizz notes the Discovery discount is a limited-time offer, but doesn’t specify how long it will stick around. However, it comes amid a series of sales from various wireless providers, including Koodo’s 25 per cent discount, Fido’s attempt to match it, Freedom’s $40/250GB plan, and Public adding tons of data to its plans. Many of those deals are slated to end on March 16 (today), so we’ll see how long Fizz’s Discovery discount sticks around once competitors’ promotions go away.
