Season 17 of 7 Little Johnstons begins on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026. Faithful fans are ready for the new episodes as they have missed the family, despite the last season ending just three months ago. At the same time, Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden just announced baby number two on March 10th. That has led some to believe they only did this for ratings and to keep their show going. Keep reading for more details on what some have to say.
Baby #2 All For A Storyline?
It is a very exciting time for Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden. The 7 Little Johnstons stars are expecting their second child, and they are over the moon. This baby will join their daughter, Leighton, who arrived in November 2023, and has consistently been a bright light. Her journey into the world has been documented on the hit TLC reality series. Season 17, which will debut on Tuesday, March 17th, will follow the couple as they plan to walk down the aisle. However, some believe that Liz and Brice may have planned this second baby for ratings and to keep the show going.
It is no secret that Liz’s sister, Anna Johnston, is estranged from her family. The upcoming season will likely detail more of this, although it was already spoken about in the past. Now, it appears a follower commented on the new baby, and Anna jumped right in. They teased that the only reason Liz got pregnant again was that they needed another storyline. Otherwise, their lives are “boring.” Anna quickly responded:
“I wasn’t going to say it.”

It is unclear if Liz clapped back at her sister, but she likely will stay away from this one. She is pregnant and does not need any unnecessary stress during this time. However, she and her mother, Amber Johnston, are under fire for other comments made about the baby. It seems that the 7 Little Johnstons star would have no problem if baby number two were a little person. In fact, she would have been fine if Leighton had been one.
The Reasoning Behind This
Some 7 Little Johnstons fans needed to understand the reasoning behind this. They could not grasp why Liz and Amber Johnston would want a child to have an unecessary struggles in life. As fans may be aware, the Johnstons have achondroplasia dwarfism, but Liz had this to say when she and Brice were talking about a second baby:
“One more try for a little person is what I tell [Brice]. Just for us to try, because we would definitely be stoked about having one average and one little someday.”
Of course, this was head-scratching, so Amber attempted to make some sense of it. She claimed most parents would want a child who resembled them in some fashion. For Liz, that would be having a baby who was also a little person:
“Don’t most individuals want children like themselves? There is absolutely no reason why that is selfish.”
From that mindset, it does sound different. At the same time, the Barnesville, Georgia resident did say that she was somewhat happier knowing Leighton would be average. Amber had told Liz about carrying babies with dwarfism, and it was not pleasant.
What do you think of Anna agreeing that the show has run dry? Moreover, do you think that the pregnancy was planned around the show? Finally, do you think Amber and Liz have a right to want a baby in any fashion? Let us know and watch 7 Little Johnstons Tuesdays on TLC.
