2026 is Robert Pattinson’s year, and we’re here for it! Last night was the premiere of The Drama, A24’s new rom-com starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya. While on the red carpet, Pattinson shared some exciting insight into the upcoming The Batman: Part II by commending director Matt Reeves on his new script.
Pattinson, who stepped into the role of Bruce Wayne in 2022, told Deadline last night that the new film is taking some risks and trying to do something new once more with the character. The Batman successfully grossed over $770 million at the global box office and was loved by audiences for its gritty, crime-noir telling of the classic DC comic.
“The script is extraordinary… I think it’s going to be a really, really special movie and very, very different,” he said.
“It’s going to be interesting seeing it come out. It’s taking some big swings.”
While appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Colin Farrell, who plays the Penguin, similarly praised Matt Reeves’ script, describing it as intelligent and a “contemporary genre masterwork.” Filming for The Batman Part II begins this spring, with Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Barry Keoghan, and Andy Serkis set to star in it as well.
Along with answering the bat signal, Pattinson will appear on the big screen this year in The Drama, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, which dropped its first official trailer online yesterday.
The Batman: Part II will hit UK cinemas on October 1, 2026.
