Rahel Solomon has been part of CNN for years. Throughout this time, she has often shared quite a few announcements with viewers. Recently, however, she shared, while live on air, that she was exiting the network.
Rahel Solomon Is Known To Many For Her Work On CNN’s Early Start
Solomon is a Sudanese-born journalist. Her family moved to the United States when she was three years old, with her family settling in West Philadelphia.
Throughout her career, Solomon has worked with a number of outlets, including CBS and NBC affiliate sites, as well as CNBC. In 2022, she joined CNN. Serving as a business reporter, she is especially known for hosting Early Start for the network.
However, while hosting CNN’s 5 AM hour, Rahel shared that she was saying goodbye to the network within a few days. This was during end of Early Start on Monday morning.
Solomon shared, “I have decided that this will be my last week at CNN.” While not divulging much, she started to hint at what was to come next for her, adding, “More to come on what’s next for me, but I’m really excited about this next chapter.”
Solomon also thanked the CNN team for the opportunity to work with them. She also looked back at the stories she covered over the past year, including job rates and inflation.
Solomon Has Shared A Few Big Life Updates With Fans In Recent Years
As Solomon shared, “I am so proud to have worked here alongside you. To the larger team here at CNN, I’m gonna be cheering you on. I look forward to watching. It has been such an honor, truly, to serve as a business correspondent.”
Since Solomon has made her announcement, CNN has also shared a statement concerning the news, noting that they would support Solomon throughout this transition. It read, “We are grateful to Rahel for all her contributions to CNN over the past four years and are supportive of her decision. We wish her all the best in her next chapter.”
As noted by The U.S. Sun, Solomon previously shared major life updates with fans in recent years. She married in 2024 and announced the birth of her first child by the following year.
Solomon also celebrated her time with the network in a number of posts on social media. In a post shared back in 2023, she also highlighted the start of her second year with the network. At the time, she wrote, “What a ride we’ve been on this last year! The economy has thrown us all sorts of wild cards and, through it all, I’ve tried to bring you business news that is both informative but also engaging and maybe even fun at times.”
