Mel B, also known as Scary Spice, isn’t ready to close the door on a Spice Girls reunion just yet. Despite recent plans for a 30th anniversary reunion falling through, the singer has made it clear that she’s still eager to reunite in a professional capacity with the girls, including Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Mel C (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice).
Mel B continues to express hope that fans will one day see the iconic girl group perform their top hits together again, keeping the dream of a reunion alive.
The Spice Girls Would Be Touring Now If Mel B Had Her Way
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls’ commercial debut for their hit song “Wannabe”, and while rumors of a possible reunion had been swirling for the past year, that was shut down when members of the group confirmed that, sadly, it won’t be happening.
Page Six caught up with Mel B at an event, and the singer shared her thoughts about the cancellation. “In a perfect world, we’d already be on tour right now, touring the whole entire world,” Mel B said. She said she had always been eager to have a Spice Girls reunion, “but it isn’t happening,” she noted.
“I’m always ready to go on tour with the Spice Girls. I wouldn’t be sitting here if it weren’t for my other four girls, if I weren’t part of that kind of girl power crazy roller coaster ride,” Mel B said. The cancellation devastated fans, but with some members expressing their desire to perform together again, a reunion doesn’t seem impossible.
Mel C Remains Optimistic
While on “The Smallzy Show,” Mel C addressed that this year is a big one for the Spice Girls. However, she also confirmed that there would be no reunion, as previously reported by The Blast. The plans were reportedly scrapped after they “failed to reach an agreement.”
“July will be the 30th anniversary of ‘Wannabe’ being released. And then later in the year, ‘Spice,’ the first album. So, yeah, it’s a big one. And no, there is no reunion,” she explained. However, she noted that doesn’t mean there won’t be a reunion in the future.
According to Mel C, she and the other four Spice Girls are always in communication, and they all want to “do something” together. “I still feel very optimistic, and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future,” she added.
Mel B Shared The Difficulties Of Getting The Girls Together

In 2024, Mel B teased fans about a project that involved all the Spice Girls. In an interview on “Today with Hoda & Jenna,” she was asked about the possibility of the reunion, and she said, “We’re actually going to be releasing some really good news in a bout a few weeks that involves all five of us.”
The singer added that it was “tricky” to get all of the five women together, since they were all busy with work, and they all had children as well. Since the Spice Girls disbanded, they have all pursued other projects. Mel B is a judge on “America’s Got Talent,” Beckham launched her fashion brand, Mel C became a DJ, Bunton hosts a radio show, and Halliwell turned to writing books.
Despite Mel B’s hint at that time, the Spice Girls didn’t reunite professionally.
The Spice Girls Disbanded In 2001
The Spice Girls gained commercial success in 1996 with the release of their debut single “Wannabe.” That was followed by a series of other chart-topping hits, including “Say You’ll Be There,” “2 Become 1,” and “Spice Up Your Life.”
The Spice Girls became a global phenomenon, dominating music charts around the world. The group even extended their influence beyond music and starred in their own movie, “Spice World,” released in 1997, which cemented their status as pop culture icons.
In 1998, Halliwell left the group, citing that she was exhausted and wanted to take a break. Decades later, she apologized, saying that she was “just being a brat” when she decided to leave. The Spice Girls continued as a four-woman group and released the album “Forever” in 2000. They officially disbanded in 2001 and pursued solo careers.
The Group Reunited A Few Times Over The Years

The five girls have since reunited since they disbanded. From December 2007 to February 2008, the five women went on “The Return of the Spice Girls Tour,” performing nearly 50 shows. In 2012, they again performed as a group at the London Olympics’ closing ceremony.
In 2019, the Spice Girls went on a tour in the UK, but only four members were present. Beckham chose not to participate and focus on her family and business instead.
While a full reunion isn’t likely in the near future, their enthusiasm hints that it could still happen someday.
