Freedom Mobile has brought back its $40/250GB CAN/US/MEX plan again.

The deal has been available on and off again all month long. It started on the weekend of March 6, came back on the 13th, and then was available at a slightly higher $50/mo price from the 17th until the 26th.

This time around, the plan will be available until March 31, according to Freedom’s website. Freedom is also still offering its $50/150GB and $60/200GB plans, though neither makes sense while the $40/250GB deal is available. As a quick refresher, here’s what the deal includes:

    • 250GB of 5G+ data in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
    • 50GB of Roam Beyond data (works in over 120 destinations).
    • Unlimited talk and text in North America and 120+ destinations.
    • $40/mo after $40 ongoing credit and $5 autopay ‘Digital Discount.’

Freedom Mobile plans as of March 26, 2026.

If that sounds too good to be true, well, I agree. But Freedom does advertise its ‘Price Freeze Promise‘ on the plan, which says that “your wireless plan price (before discounts and credits) will never go up as long as you keep your plan.”

Moreover, the fine print for the $40/250GB deal notes that “you will receive the $40/month credit as long as you remain active on an eligible plan as a bring your own phone customer.” So, all that in mind, it seems like a pretty safe bet to grab this plan.

For what it’s worth, I snagged the $40/250GB offer the last time Freedom offered it. While it’s barely been two weeks, my experience so far has been very positive, and the network performance has been great where I live in Hamilton, Ont. Obviously, not everyone will have the same experience, but if you’re sick of overpaying on wireless with the Big Three and their various subsidiary brands, it might be worth giving Freedom a shot.

And for those who can’t switch to Freedom, the $40/250GB plan may still help you out. The last time Freedom offered this deal, several other wireless providers launched competing offers. (Granted, they weren’t quite as good as $40/250GB, but there were still some solid deals available.) Here’s hoping the return of the $40/250GB deal will spur more discounts from the Big Three.

Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that Freedom suffered data breaches in January and October. That might not make a difference for some people, but for others, that might be an immediate turn-off.
