Canadian Olympic gold medalist Ann-Renee Desbiens is continuing her sparkling 2025-26 Professional Women’s Hockey League regular season. On Wednesday, Desbiens recorded her fifth shutout of the season and sixth of her career as the Montreal Victoire blanked the defending PWHL champion Minnesota Frost 3-0 at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Desbiens made 21 saves overall. She made six saves in the first period, six saves in the second period, and nine saves in the third period.
Catherine Dubois of Quebec City, Quebec scored the game-winning goal for the Victoire. It was an unassisted goal with 41 seconds left in the second period.
Desbiens won a gold medal for Canada at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. So far this season, Desbiens has a record of 13 wins, four regulation losses and two losses in extra time. She has a goals against average of 1.21 and a save percentage of .952. You could make the argument that Desbiens has put herself in the conversation for the PWHL MVP award.
With the win, the Victoire moved into second place in the PWHL standings past the Frost. They have a record of 15 wins (11 in regulation and four in extra time), five regulation losses and two losses in extra time for 43 points.
