Canadian defensive linemen Wesley Bailey and Rene Konga performed for scouts at the University of Louisville pro day on Tuesday — and the results were special.
According to the official results distributed to professional teams, which were acquired by 3DownNation, Konga recorded 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, ran a 4.79-second forty-yard dash, 4.59-second shuttle, 7.03-second three-cone drill, leapt 37 inches in the vertical jump, and a ten-foot, two-inch broad jump.
The six-foot-four, 298-pound defender would have been a standout among defensive tackles at the 2026 NFL Combine, ranking first in the vertical jump, broad jump, and three-cone drill. He would also have tied for second in the forty-yard dash and tied for fourth in the shuttle.
The native of Ottawa, Ont. played 44 collegiate games with the Cardinals and made 13 starts, recording 63 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, eight pass knockdowns, and one interception. Pro Football Focus credited him with 67 quarterback pressures over 680 career pass-rushing snaps.
Bailey recorded 27 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, ran a 4.69-second forty-yard dash, 4.50-second shuttle, 7.00-second three-cone drill, leapt 35 inches in the vertical jump, and a ten-foot, one-inch broad jump.
The six-foot-five, 260-pound defender would have ranked near the top of defensive ends at the 2026 NFL Draft in the bench press, shuttle, and three-cone drill, though few prospects participated in testing. His other results would have been near in the middle of the pack.
The native of Ottawa, Ont. transferred to Louisville in 2025 after spending four seasons at Rutgers University. In total, he played 48 collegiate games and made 41 starts, recording 110 total tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, six pass knockdowns, and four fumble recoveries.
3DownNation initially projected Bailey and Konga as second-round picks in the 2026 CFL Draft, though they are now expected to fall down draft boards as their NFL stock rises.
The head coach at Louisville is Jeff Brohm, whose younger brother Brian serves as the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Brian was a star quarterback for the Cardinals, then became a second-round in the 2008 NFL Draft. He later spent three seasons in the CFL as a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The 2026 CFL Draft is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
