One thing about Whoopi Goldberg is that she has zero patience for fluff pieces on the ABC talk show. She has a habit of zoning out during topics she doesn’t find interesting. Even if she introduced the topic. She’s done everything from pretending to faint to sinking into her seat during boring discussions. But she brought out a new tactic: taking a nap while live on the air.
As an actress, Whoopi Goldberg loves dramatics. She’s brought her acting skills to the daytime talk show more than once. On Tuesday’s episode, she pretended to fall asleep during a “Hot Topics” discussion. She’s always up for a political debate, but wasn’t interested in diving into relationship drama.
As the show’s moderator, she brought a topic from Reddit to the table. A woman had asked for advice on the social media platform about her relationship. The anonymous posted shared that she had been visiting her boyfriend’s family for nearly every weekend and needed help putting boundaries in place.
Whoopi Goldberg immediately checked out after introducing the topic. “Now, wake me when you’re done,” she said as she threw the discussion to the rest of the panel.
Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Abby Huntsman shared brief thoughts on the situation. When they wrapped up, Sunny Hostin told Whoop that they were done. However, it took Joy Behar saying, Wake up!” before she was roused from her pretend nap.
Fans Blast Sara Haines’ Comments On Scenario
Viewers are used to Whoopi Goldberg’s behavior when she’s bored. But some fans took issue with Sara Haines’ take on the scenario. One viewer took to Reddit to blast the co-host.

The viewer didn’t like Sara Haines saying “if” the man allows his partner to spend time doing her own thing. A couple other fans shared their thoughts on what was said.
- “I think if you look at Sara’s husband’s social media (Twitter) you will understand Sara. And I don’t mean that as a compliment.”
