During a recent livestream, Clareesa Shields started naming female singers she grew up on. She immediately began to sing Angie Stone’s song, ‘No More Rain.’
“Who is that sings… ‘My sunshine has come, and there’s no more rain in this cloud.’ She just passed away — that’s my girl!” Shields said.
From there, Shields grabbed her phone to check if the singer had passed, but instead of saying Angie, she ended up calling her Jill Scott.

Shields’ comments sparked a mix of reactions online, including one from Angie’s daughter, Diamond, who wasn’t feeling the mix-up. She hopped on TikTok and dropped a video calling out Shields, telling her that if she’s going to like her mom’s music, don’t confuse her with anyone else. “Claressa, if you gon’ like my momma music don’t ever call her Jill Scott again,” Diamond said.
