    Ottawa Gee-Gees’ Marc Djonay Rondeau wins broad jump at 2026 CFL Combine

    University of Ottawa linbacker Marc Djonay Rondeau was the top performer in the broad jump at the 2026 CFL Combine with a leap of 10-feet, 11 3/8-inches.

    The six-foot, 194-pound SAM linebacker from Quebec City played 35 games over four seasons with the Gee-Gees, collecting 176 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three pass breakups, an interception, and two blocked kicks.

    Other players who finished in the top five of the event include McGill University quarterback Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald (10’10 1/2), University of British Columbia defensive back Benjamin Sangmuah (10’10 1/4), University of Ottawa defensive back Patrick Cumberbatch (10’8 1/8), and Wilfrid Laurier University receiver Jesulayomi Ojutalayo (10’7 7/8).

    The all-time broad jump record for the CFL Combine was set by Manitoba receiver Shai Ross in 2019 at 11-feet, 5.5-inches. He was selected in the fifth round by Edmonton and played three seasons in the CFL, finishing with the B.C. Lions.

    The next top performances all-time came from Ottawa defensive back Eric Cumberbatch in 2025 (11’2 3/8), McGill defensive back Ben Labrosse in 2024 (11’1 3/4), Carleton defensive back Jacob Dearborn in 2019 (11’0 3/4), Western receiver Shaquille Johnson in 2016 (11’0), and Wilfrid Laurier defensive back Chris Ackie in 2015 (10’11 1/2).

    Cumberbatch was the top performer at the 2025 CFL Combine in Regina. He was selected in the fifth round by the Ottawa Redblacks and played 11 games as a rookie.
