Last July, the music world tragically lost Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath frontman and media star. Since his passing, his family has often opened up about his life while processing their own grief. While Ozzy accomplished a lot in his life, during a recent appearance, his son, Jack, revealed that there was one wish he still wanted to pursue before his death.
Ozzy Osbourne Passed Away At The Age Of 76 In July 2025
Ozzy co-founded Black Sabbath in 1968, serving as their lead singer. Through the band, he was often hailed as a pioneer of heavy metal music. In the 2000s, he and his family became introduced to new generations through their reality series, The Osbournes. He and his family also appeared in later shows, such as Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour and The Osbournes Want to Believe.
Tragically, Ozzy passed away on July 22, 2025. He was 76 at the time of his death. His primary cause of death was listed as acute myocardial infarction and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Since his death, various members of the Osbourne family have opened up about the famous singer. Recently, Ozzy’s son, Jack, appeared on Jamie Kennedy’s “Hate to Break It to Ya” podcast. At the time, he spoke about a conversation with his father, in which he shared his views about life after music.
During the moment Jack discussed the “Back To The Beginning” tour, which was promoted as his final show, and took place a few weeks before his passing. Jack noted, “I think he was done… we went to the Back To The Beginning gig and we hung around England for a few weeks.”
Ozzy Previously Explained Some Of His Plans Following The Tour
Jack claimed that his father had one last wish: a change that would have signified the end of an era. As Jack continued, “Right before I left, I was putting (Ozzy) to bed and he was brushing his teeth and looking at himself in the mirror and he goes, ‘I think I’m going to cut my hair off.’”
“And I’m like: ‘Why?’ and he’s like, ‘I’ve retired. I’m not a rock star anymore.’ And, so, I think about that and I’m like, ‘Yeah, he was done.’ He was OK with his journey.”

Ozzy’s long hair, for many, was a famous symbol of his rockstar image. In other words, his wish to cut off his hair symbolized his desire to finally say goodbye to his lifestyle, or at least his image, in some part.
Notably, the “Back To The Beginning” tour was promoted as Ozzy’s final live performance, citing health issues. As noted by The Daily Mail, Ozzy previously expressed the desire to continue recording music prior to his death.
Of course, Ozzy wasn’t above occasionally changing his look over the years. At one point in the conversation, Kennedy noted that he remembered once seeing Ozzy with a shaved head. To this, Jack explained, “Yeah, he shaved his head once to piss my mom off.”
