Xbox has unveiled new limited edition accessories based on its upcoming Japan-set racing game, Forza Horizon 6.
First up is a controller that Xbox calls “one of the most vibrant” it’s ever released that’s also inspired by the Forza series’ signature Horizon Festival of global races. It sports a transparent cyan blue that’s accentuated with volt green, hot pink, and silver, a map-esque pattern that goes across the front, silver metallic D-pad and two-tone rubberized diamond grips. Xbox says the design was inspired by Japan’s Touge roads, which are winding, narrow paths in the country’s mountainsides.
The second accessory is a headset that sports a similar cyan, volt green and hot pink colour scheme. In particular, the hot pink logo is meant to draw from pit crew aesthetics, while the ear cups sport racetrack-inspired graphics. The headset will also feature custom sound effects that mix a Japanese V8 engine with the Forza Horizon 6 UI when you perform actions like turning the headset on and off, pairing devices or muting/unmuting your mic.
The Forza Horizon 6 controller will cost $114.99, while the headset is priced at $169.99. Both will launch on May 19 alongside the game and can be ordered from the Microsoft Store. It’s also worth noting that Xbox has partnered with third-party accessory maker 8bitdo on a US$34.99 (about C$48) Horizon 6-themed charging dock that ships worldwide.
