Realistically, three Canadian players could be selected in this year’s NFL Draft, which gets underway on Thursday night in Pittsburgh.
University of Miami defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor is viewed as a consensus first-round pick and is the most highly touted Canadian prospect in a decade and a half. University of Louisville defensive lineman Rene Konga is garnering substantial mid-round buzz due to his athletic ability, while Boston College offensive lineman Logan Taylor is expected to be taken in the later rounds. There is also an outside shot for others, including University of Arkansas tight end Rohan Jones, Louisville defensive lineman Wesley Bailey, and Mississippi State offensive lineman Albert Reese IV, to hear their names called before Mr. Irrelevant goes on Saturday.
Since 1966 — the start of the Super Bowl Era — there have been 81 Canadian players selected in the NFL Draft. At least one player from north of the border has been chosen in the NFL from 2011 to 2025 — the longest-ever streak. That is expected to grow to 15 years this year.
Below is the comprehensive list of all the Canadian players who have ever been drafted into the NFL.
