Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets has sadly passed away at the tender age of sixty-seven years old. So, what happened and how exactly did he die? Finally, what has been the reaction from those who knew and loved him? Keep reading for all of the tragic details.
Darrell Sheets Dies At 67
Storage Wars has been a hit for seventeen seasons on A&E, with Season 18 scheduled to begin airing in May 2026. It is all about storage lockers and gathering the belongings if the owner/renter does not pay up. Therefore, whatever is inside is auctioned off, and the cast then goes to see what they can bid on. It is a high-stakes game that viewers adore, hence why it has lasted so long. Darrell Sheets, aka ‘The Gambler,’ was on the series for the first fifteen seasons. He was a main buyer and a fan favorite, but eventually left and retired to Lake Havasu, Arizona.
He went on to run his own antique shop, Havasu Show Me Your Junk. Unfortunately, Darrell had his own health problems in the past, as he suffered a heart attack in 2019. Additionally, he had some issues with A&E regarding the show as well as his contract. Things seemed to work out for him until he exited, but in the early hours of Wednesday, April 22nd, authorities responded to Darrell’s home. The Storage Wars alum had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, which is horrible to learn.
Immediately, fans felt that it could have been his health problems that caused depression. Others just wished that Darrell had reached out for help, but sometimes it is not that easy:
- Perhaps his health conditions were the cause of his depression. Poor man. I remember I found him highly entertaining but don’t recall if he was the “villain” of the show. Anyway, R.I.P. Darrell.
- Very sad. Entertaining guy. His choice but suicide isn’t the way. No coming back from that. Please reach out if you need help. There’s people out there!
Fans Are Broken
Storage Wars fans were brokenhearted to learn the news that Darrell Sheets had passed away. Moreover, he had taken his own life. They hated knowing that this was how he left the world:
