The girls on Unexpected are all teenagers, struggling with various problems aside from being pregnant. Amya is hopeful that she can drop enough weight to feel more comfortable in her own skin. One of the most embarrassing moments was when she and her boyfriend, Jose, went go-kart racing postpartum.

Amya Lashes Out After A Date Gone Wrong
After the birth of her son, Sam, Unexpected star Amya did not feel great about herself. She hopped on the scale and realized that she was 317 pounds. That shook her to the core and made her feel awful. She did not want to be skinny, but she had hoped she had dropped a tad more weight postpartum. Then, her boyfriend, Jose, planned a date night at an arcade, and he wanted to go on the go-karts. Amya explained that she did not think she would fit or that the belt would fasten. He did not care and told her that she should at least try.
She did not fit and was utterly embarrassed, leaving to call her mother crying about what happened. That led her to seek out a trainer at the gym, although the meal plans were less than desirable. Now, after working with the trainer for three months, Amya is ready to weigh in. Her trainer encouraged her not to be addicted to the scale, and after hopping on, she finds that she is 285 pounds. This is incredible progress, but is it enough to fit in the go-karts? That will be seen on the April 27th episode of Unexpected.
The sixteen-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada, native has so much support from her family, who have rallied around her for the big moment. More so, they just want Amya to be able to see her hard work pay off, but her ultimate goal was to be able to dress like a “hoochie.”

Unexpected fans have always loved Amya’s mother, Mama G, and think she’s extremely reasonable. After seeing her drop all of that weight and hit a great number, they immediately chimed in with love, support, and encouragement:
