Saving people, hunting things … wait, that’s not right.

Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins gave Supernatural fans a highly anticipated reunion during the Wednesday, April 29, episode of The Boys — but only one of them made it out alive.

Spoilers for The Boys season 5, episode 5 below.

Wednesday’s episode, titled “One-Shots,” offered an inside look at several characters on the same day. Firecracker (Valorie Curry), Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell), Sister Sage (Susan Heyward), Soldier Boy (Ackles) and Terror the dog are all featured throughout the episode, but as expected, Soldier Boy’s POV gave viewers the moment they were all waiting for.

After Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) gets interrogated, it’s revealed that a former member of The Seven — Mr. Marathon (Padalecki) — might have details about the remaining V1. Naturally, Soldier Boy and Homelander (Antony Starr) take a trip to Los Angeles and find him with some familiar faces.

Jensen Ackles is sharing new insight into the Supernatural reunion on The Boys season 5. “Eric Kripke, who created Supernatural, he is also the writer [and] showrunner of The Boys. When he likes to work with somebody, he likes to continue working with them,” Ackles, 47, shared during his Monday, June 23, appearance on The […]

Padalecki gave a brief backstory of Mr. Marathon during the episode (for those who didn’t read the comics), explaining that Mr. Marathon was a member of The Seven — until he was no longer the world’s fastest man. So, Homelander was forced to replace him. Now, he’s an actor making movies at Sony Pictures TV “where washed up Supes go to die.” (Eagle-eyed fans will notice that one film poster called Mr. Marathon a “supernatural speedster,” and yes, it was in the Supernatural show font.)

In the basement of Mr. Marathon’s home, Kumail Nanjiani, Seth Rogen (an executive producer on The Boys), Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Will Forte and Malchemical (Collins) are playing poker.

Soldier Boy and Mr. Marathon have a one-on-one moment to discuss what’s going on with Homelander and where they can find V1 when things start to get crazy. Malchemical used his powers to drug Homelander, leading to a discussion between him, Soldier Boy and Mr. Marathon — a far cry from Castiel, Dean and Sam.

Soldier Boy, not down for turning against Homelander, broke Malchemical’s neck before causing Mr. Marathon to run into every celebrity in his house. Literally, run into them, so that they all explode. Craig Robinson, who was in the bathroom for most of the scene, became an unlikely target as well.

Finally, Soldier Boy used several bottles of Puff Baby baby oil to slow Mr. Marathon down and broke his legs. While on the ground, a newly awakened Homelander stomped on Mr. Marathon, crushing his face.

“I took care of it,” Soldier Boy told Homelander. “Because f*** them, that’s why.”

New episodes of The Boys premiere via Prime Video on Wednesdays.
