For many, being a contestant on a game show is an intimidating prospect, as people ultimately find themselves on their own in their big moment to win the game. Of course, there are times when their loved ones are at their side to cheer them on and even offer support. However, this doesn’t always work out. In fact, one recent contestant on The Price Is Right learned this when ignoring a loved one’s advice ended up helping her win big.
One Contestant Tried Their Luck With A Recent Game Of Five Price Tags On The Price Is Right
Sanchi Ranyal was a recent contestant on the long-running game show. She bid $1,400 on three pairs of AirPod Max headphones and an AirPod case. With the items costing around $1,673, she won the headphones and another chance to win with a game.
This game was Five Price Tags. With this game, a contestant sees five price tags, with one for a big prize. To help get the best chance to win, the contestant has to guess whether the prices seen in front of four items are true or false.
During Ranyal’s game, the main prize was a 2025 Chevrolet Trax 1LT. Her first item was a Cuisinart Stainless Steel Chopper, which was valued at $28. Ranyal correctly guessed that the price was true.
Ranyal also correctly guessed that the second price was false. A cotton candy maker, worth around $50, was given a price of $80. Shen then correctly guessed that a mortar and pestle were worth around $38.
The fourth and final item was a cherry blossom bonsai tree. This time, Ranyal guessed incorrectly, feeling that the genuine price of $99 was false, costing her a fourth tag.
Sanchi Ranyal’s Winning Streak Didn’t Last As She Advanced To The Showcase
When getting to choose her price tags, Ranyal also picked $26,995 first, which proved wrong. This caused Drew Carey to share, “Whoa!”
For her second option, Ranyal’s husband, who was in the audience, tried to help her. He could be seen signaling the numbers “two” and “five” with his hands, sharing that he wanted her to pick $25,745. However, his wife ultimately went with her gut instead.

Ranyal picked $24,690, which was the right choice, meaning that she won the car. Despite not using his advice, her husband appeared to be in good spirits, cheering her on as she won.
That said, Ranyal’s winning streak didn’t last after she advanced to the Showcase, with her ultimately being outbid by her opponent, Craig. This Showcase included trips to Jackson Hole, San Diego, and South Africa.
