Gwen Stefani kicked off a Las Vegas Residency with No Doubt this week. Fans have been waiting for the reunion for a while and tickets were scooped up fast. However, one important person wasn’t there – her husband. He skipped the big event for a shocking reason. Keep reading to find out what happened.
Gwen Stefani Reunites With No Doubt
Years before her solo career, Gwen Stefani gained stardom as the front-woman of the Ska band No Doubt. The overnight rise to fame almost caused the band to split in the early ’90s. They famously documented the situation in the video for their massive hit, “Don’t Speak.” The tension was further fueled by Gwen Stefani and the band’s bassist, Tony Kanal, breaking up after seven years.
The band never officially called it quits, but went on a long hiatus while Gwen Stefani pursued a solo career. They reunited in 2024 for an energetic performance at Coachella. The feedback from their fans eventually led them to sign on for a residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
No Doubt kicked the residency off on Wednesday, May 6. The band added more tour dates to the residency after tickets sold out quickly. It was a packed audience on opening night, but a familiar face was missing: Her husband.
Blake Shelton Skips Wife’s Big Event Amid Split Rumors
The 18-show residency continues through June. Blake Shelton has more chances to show up for his wife, but he skipped the opening night. However, it wasn’t necessarily his decision. He was booked for a gig of his own a few miles away. The country singer also has a Las Vegas residency for a handful of dates in May before hitting the road in June for a national tour.

TMZ reported that Blake Shelton wasn’t the only family member absent. Gwen Stefani’s three children, whom she shares with ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, also weren’t there. The outlet noted that it was a school night, so they probably skipped it for that reason.
He Blasts ‘D***head’ Manager
Blake Shelton’s residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was scheduled for the same night as No Doubt’s at The Sphere. Since tickets were already sold, he didn’t have much choice in skipping his wife’s event.
However, he joked about it during his concert. “What kind of a d***head books us the exact same nights every single night? I think my manager did that,” Blake Shelton told the audience during the opening night of his residency.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s marriage has been the source of rumors since they said, “I Do.” Skipping his wife’s big moment could have sparked more rumors, but he put an end to that immediately. The country singer reportedly hopes to attend catch No Doubt at The Sphere before the band’s residency ends in June.
