The Daily Wire has gained much prominence in recent years as it branched out into other media. However, the company has been facing layoffs and dwindling numbers as of late. Thanks to this, some have been wondering about the company’s future. Recently, a few Daily Wire personalities have weighed in on the story.
The Daily Wire Recently Lost Around 13% Of Its Staff Since The Start Of The Year
The Daily Wire is a media company founded in 2015 by political commentator Ben Shapiro and film director Jeremy Boreing. Based in Nashville, it produces podcasts like The Ben Shapiro Show.
Over the years, the company has also released various documentaries, films, and video series. With its commentary, it also dominated social media feeds and podcast apps.
However, The Daily Wire has been facing issues as of late that have gotten some wondering about the company’s future. As noted by The Washington Post, the company has recently faced sweeping layoffs.
Some Former Employees Have Also Become Critical Of The Company
Spokesman Brad Bishop noted that the company had cut 13% of its staff since the start of this year, with over 200 employees. Most of the jobs cut were based in the company’s Nashville headquarters. However, staff in D.C., Florida and the Northeast would continue to work within “an ambitious slate of new entertainment projects set to release this year,” as shared by the statement. That said, Bishop did not seem too concerned over the state of affairs, however, noting, “The internet says we are going ‘bankrupt’ or ‘dying’ every year.”
Citing analytics firm Social Blade, it was also claimed that The Daily Wire’s YouTube channel subscriber base shrank in the first 15 out of 16 months since the start of last year. In March, the website’s traffic was also said to be half of what it had been the previous year. The company’s Facebook status has also faced competition from other right-wing creators, even on other platforms. Even former personalities, such as Brett Cooper or Candace Owens, have developed independent podcasts.

Meanwhile, Shapiro himself claimed that the company’s revenue had fallen compared to 2024. However, he maintained that the company was “not going anywhere.” He also claimed that The Daily Wire‘s cash-flow numbers dwarfed “those of our critics.” As the publication noted, this was likely in reference to former employees being critical of the company’s future. Owens, for example, recently shared that the company had become “what they claimed they were getting into the business to fight.” Ultimately, the outlet noted that The Daily Wire believes that it is still on a growth path.
