The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released Canadian receiver Keaton Bruggeling, the team announced on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old native of St. Catharines, Ont. played nine regular-season games with the Tabbies in 2025, making seven catches for 63 yards.

The six-foot-three, 225-pound target was originally selected in the third round of the 2022 CFL Draft by the Ottawa Redblacks. Over 40 career regular-season CFL games, Bruggeling has caught 15 passes for 146 yards and one touchdown.

Bruggeling, who played collegiate football at Carleton University, also participated in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in the bobsleigh.

The Tiger-Cats have also cut American receiver Kelly Akharaiyi, American offensive lineman Quinn Carroll, Canadian defensive lineman Kail Dava, American defensive linemen Maalik Hall and Dawson Scott, American linebacker Jayden McDonald, American defensive backs Gabe Jeudy-Lally and Josiah Scott, and Global punter Fraser Masin.

Hamilton has also moved Canadian defensive back Mack Bannatyne to the retired list.

The 24-year-old native of Calgary, Alta. was a third-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft out of the University of Alberta. He made eight defensive tackles and five special teams tackles over 15 regular-season games as a CFL rookie.

All nine CFL teams were required to trim their rosters to 75 players (not including draft picks) by 11:59 p.m. local time on Tuesday, May 12.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats opened training camp on May 10. Hamilton will play its two preseason games against the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday, May 23 and Friday, May 29. Final roster cuts are due on Saturday, May 30, after which the team will play its first regular-season game against the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday, June 4.

Hamilton recently selected Louisiana Tech offensive lineman Jonathan Denis with their first-round pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, adding depth up front. The team’s other major offseason additions include quarterback Tre Ford, receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr., and linebacker Wynton McManis.

In 2025, the Tiger-Cats finished first in the East Division standings with an 11-7 record, though the team lost the East Final to the Montreal Alouettes.
