In her personal life, McEntire has been married twice, to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987 and Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2016. Starting in 2020, she has been in a relationship with actor Rex Linn, who is known for his work on CSI: Miami and Better Call Saul, in addition to working alongside McEntire on Happy’s Place. Having previously met in the early 1990s, the two reportedly reconnected during an episode of Young Sheldon.
McEntire and Linn are set to make their own way down the aisle as a couple, having become engaged in December 2024 on Christmas Eve. Since then, the country legend herself recently shared some details about the upcoming nuptials.
Speaking with Extra, McEntire joked about how long the engagement could last before they actually tie the knot. She shared, “Well, they’re kind of being pushed every time Rex gets a job, because he always says work comes first. Heck, we might be engaged 30 years before we ever get married, but we’re OK with that too!”

However, the singer had some idea about what the ceremony would be like. When asked if things would go “big” or “quiet,” she answered, “Kind of in between. It will be low-key, lots of friends and family.”
McEntire also shared that there were certain guests in particular that she had in mind to be a big part of the proceedings. She explained, “We’ll have to have dogs there. I have two grand-dogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or something like that, but we have to have our animals there. We’ve got longhorns and donkeys, horses and everything, cats. We have a lot of fun with them.”
Overall, the star shared that she was happy with things at this point in her life. She shared, “I am totally happy. I really am. Lovin’ life. Enjoy what I do.”
