Viewers saw Battle on the Beach wrap up its latest season a few years back. Since then, there has been a bit of discourse on whether or not the show is coming back. With sources sharing different stories, Ty Pennington recently weighed in on what’s going on behind-the-scenes.
Ty Pennington Has Been Part Of A Number Of Renovation Shows
Pennington first rose to fame as a carpenter on TLC’s Trading Spaces. He then moved on to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Over the years, Pennington has been a host on a number of different television shows. This included HGTV’s Battle on the Beach. This competition real estate series sees teams renovate beach homes room by room.
Ever since the series wrapped up its fourth season in 2024, fans have been wondering about the fate of the series. Recently, many believed that the show had been cancelled thanks to comments made by former star Alison Victoria.
During a July 2025 episode of her Pap Smear Podcast, Victoria claimed that “Battle on the Beach did not get picked back up, which is sad because it was like adult spring break.” At the time, the show appeared to be one of multiple shows getting axed by HGTV at the time. These included Bargain Block, Married to Real Estate, Izzy Does It, Farmhouse Fixer, Christina on the Coast, and The Flipping El Moussas.
Despite This, The Network Recently Shared Good News For Battle On The Beach Fans
However, speaking with TV Insider, Pennington claimed that the cancellation was never official. As he shared, “I’ve been in the television industry for a long time. I just know when it comes to TV, nothing’s really cancelled. I think that’s a big word. Sometimes, people are just re-evaluating what is doing well, what they know they want to see more of.”
Pennington also noted that, throughout this time, the fanbase has remained strong. He continued, “I think that fans really like that show because you really see people working very hard with their own hands.”

Earlier this week, HGTV confirmed that the series will return for its fifth season after all. Reportedly, new episodes are expected to debut this June. Pennington will serve as a mentor alongside Mika Kleinschmidt and Sarah Baeumler.
The trio will mentor two-person teams as they help transform beachfront properties. Renovation Aloha‘s Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama will also serve as judges.
