Cameron Dukes has been named the head coach at Adair County High School, he announced on Thursday.
The 27-year-old played three seasons in the CFL as a member of the Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes. He has not been on a roster since October.
“From six years old, I’ve had three goals in football: winning games, playing professionally, and becoming a head coach,” he wrote on social media.
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to lead these athletes and share my passion and love for the game. Anyone who knows me knows that I give everything I have to the game and I will continue doing so. I will give everything I have to these athletes, this program, and this community.”
The six-foot, 210-pound passer completed 69.9 percent of his passes over 39 regular-season CFL games for 2,212 yards, nine touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also rushed 92 times for 447 yards and 12 scores.
Dukes recently claimed he received death threats while starting for the Argonauts in 2024. He made 11 starts over two seasons with the team, going 5-6.
Adair County High School is located in Columbia, Ky., which is roughly 125 kilometres south of Dukes’ hometown of Shepherdsville. Collegiately, he played at Lindsey Wilson University, which is also located in Columbia.
