Khloe Kardashian revealed that her cats are now “possessed” amid undergoing a scandalous procedure. So, what did she do to them, and why are they acting so out of pocket? Keep reading for all of the details that the mogul shared.
Khloe Kardashian Knew Nothing About Cats
Getting pets can be trial and error, which was the case with Khloe Kardashian. She grew up with dogs, as seen on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Yet, it was her daughter, True Thompson, who wanted cats, so Khloe obliged. In 2021, Khloe adopted Gray Kitty, and then, three years later, they got Baby Kitty as a 6th birthday gift. She occasionally posts the kitties, but they have other animals in the home as well. Unfortunately, Khloe has admitted that she was ill-advised when it came to Gray and Baby Kitty, and had them both declawed.
This is something that is often frowned upon and can prevent people from being able to adopt. In the latest episode of her podcast, Khloé In Wonder Land, she opened up about the inhumane act:
“I was really misadvised about getting my cats declawed. I’ve never owned cats before. I didn’t even know that was a thing. I feel really, really terrible that I did go in this direction. I feel like that’s why my cats are miserable and it was at my doing.”
There was a lot of backlash aimed at Khloe, especially since she did it to both of her cats, who were adopted three years apart. Immediately, listeners slammed the 41-year-old and did not let up:
- You have all the resources & I don’t think you need to do research to know that’s not okay to declaw your cats
- Declawed!??? Poor babies that is soo cruel. This should be illegal.
- How r u gna get a cat knowing so little about them that u get them declawed how fkn heartbreaking i can’t imagine what those cats have gone thru and still do
Khloe Kardashian also noted that the kitties tend to act “possessed” since being declawed, attempting to make her life “miserable.” Fans did not feel for her one iota.
Don’t Get An Animal Without Research
Listeners and those who watched the pod were extremely passionate. They felt that no one should get an animal without first doing the research. This specifically applied to California native Khloe Kardashian, who has all of the resources to educate herself on cats and kittens:
- declawing a cat is INHUMANE…. educate yourself before making these kinds of decisions. That is INSANE. So sad for the cats
- Why would one consider declawing a cat? This action is comparable to the act of poaching an elephant for its tusks. Strongly advise against acquiring any additional animals.
- Oh no declawing a cat is actually horrible, it’s not just taking off their nails, you actually removed a part of their toes. That’s really sad.
Some did note that Khloe took accountability for her wrongdoings. However, it did not erase what she did and how horrible it was.
