A newsmagazine series, the 60 Minutes TV show was created by Don Hewitt and Bill Leonard in 1968. The longest-running network primetime series features investigative reports, interviews, human interest segments, and news-maker profiles. Three long-form news stories typically air each episode. The CBS News correspondents and contributors include Lesley Stahl, Scott Pelley, Bill Whitaker, Anderson Cooper, Jon Wertheim, Sharyn Alfonsi, and Cecilia Vega.

For comparisons: Season 57 of 60 Minutes on CBS averaged a 0.63 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.31 million viewers.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
