Within minutes, social media users began connecting the number to former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, who famously wears jersey number seven. Many fans interpreted the timing as a subtle clue hinting at Hardik’s admiration for Dhoni or even a possible switch to CSK.

Hardik’s return to Mumbai Indians before IPL 2024 was one of the biggest transfer stories in IPL history. The franchise secured him from Gujarat Titans in an all-cash trade after he had guided Gujarat to an IPL title in 2022 and another final appearance in 2023.
