Jennifer Lopez appears to have no regrets about her divorce from Ben Affleck!
The actress recently confirmed she hasn’t returned to the dating pool since the end of her marriage. She finalized her divorce from the “Air” star in January 2025.
Jennifer Lopez has been married four times, to actors Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, Marc Anthony, and finally Ben Affleck. She shares twins Emme Maribel Muñiz and Maximilian “Max” David Muñiz with her third ex-husband.
Lopez addressed her relationship status on the May 27 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” while promoting her upcoming movie, “Office Romance.” When the host asked if she was single, Lopez seemingly implied she had no regrets about leaving Affleck, saying:
“I am [single]. I should have done it sooner. I’ve been doing it all wrong. Trust me.”
Lopez doubled down on enjoying life as a single woman when host Jimmy Kimmel told her to consider starring on ABC’s “The Bachelorette” show. “Are you crazy?” she declared, while laughing off the thought, adding, “I’m not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now. No, it’s fantastic.”

Despite raving about enjoying life as a single woman, Lopez noted that she hasn’t closed the door on love. She drew the line on finding a new relationship on a reality TV show, but stated she was open to meeting “somebody somewhere one day if they’re good enough.”
Lopez’s comments come a year after the finalization of her divorce from Affleck in January 2025. PEOPLE reported that the duo settled their differences 20 weeks after Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024. At the time, she listed April 26, 2024, as their date of separation.
The entertainer filed for divorce without an attorney, requesting no spousal support for either party and for their attorney’s fees to be split. Lopez also claimed that their community, quasi-community assets, and separate property and obligations were “unknown” and “will be determined.”

Lopez and Affleck, per ELLE, first met on the set of “Gigli” in early 2002 while the actress was still married to her second husband, Cris Judd. The former couple filed for divorce two days after Lopez was seen kissing Affleck in July 2002 at her surprise 32nd birthday party.
Affleck proposed in November 2002, and they were scheduled to tie the knot in September 2003. However, Affleck and Lopez shocked fans by announcing a day before their wedding that they were postponing the event, and news of their breakup arrived in January 2004.
They rekindled their famous romance in 2021, turning heads for months with their public displays of affection. Affleck and Lopez finally made it down the aisle in July 2022, tying the knot in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony. But they couldn’t achieve a happily-ever-after.

Going through four divorces took its toll on Lopez, who revealed earlier this year that she needed a break after ending her relationship with Affleck. She addressed her mental state in a March interview with “Good Morning America’s Nightline,” of which a clip was shared on Instagram.
In Lopez’s words, “I had to stop everything, and I took a year off. I canceled tours. I just decided to just be home and sit in what had happened without running away from it through work, through another person, through anything. Just sit.”
Lopez added that it felt like her life had ‘exploded’ after her divorce from Affleck, noting that she coped by staying home with her kids and trying to figure things out on her own. Her words sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some applauding her resilience and others slamming her as “fake.”
The “fake” comments are nothing new for Lopez, who made waves weeks earlier for similar reasons. The Blast shared that she and her “Office Romance” co-star, Brett Goldstein, got dragged by fans for allegedly faking their chemistry to promote their new movie.
The backlash stemmed from reports of Lopez and Goldstein getting close behind the scenes, alongside claims that they were “canoodling” at the movie’s wrap party. Lopez didn’t help the dating rumors when she dubbed Goldstein the best kisser she has ever worked with.
Critics called them out on social media, accusing the pair of staging their alleged romance to boost movie sales. Many argued that Lopez and Goldstein intentionally misrepresented their relationship to excite fans about their new film, calling their actions a PR stunt.
