Chinelle Henry produced a sensational all-round performance to guide West Indies Women to a convincing 25-run victory over Pakistan Women in the second match of the Women’s T20I Tri-Series 2026 at Castle Avenue in Dublin. After helping her side post a formidable total with a late-innings batting blitz, Henry struck crucial blows with the ball to derail Pakistan’s chase. Although Pakistan’s lower order fought hard till the end, the target proved beyond reach as the Caribbean side secured their second successive win in the competition.

West Indies recover strongly to post imposing total

Asked to bat first, West Indies Women got off to a flying start courtesy of captain Hayley Matthews. The skipper attacked from the outset, smashing 40 runs from only 20 deliveries and finding the boundary nine times. Her aggressive approach helped West Indies race to 61 runs during the Powerplay.

Pakistan responded well after the strong start. Diana Baig removed Matthews to provide the breakthrough, while spinner Nashra Sundhu sent back Deandra Dottin for 17. The dismissal of Qiana Joseph by Rameen Shamim soon after reduced West Indies to 66/3, giving Pakistan a chance to seize control.

Experienced batter Stafanie Taylor then steadied the innings with a composed 39 from 23 balls. Alongside Jahzara Claxton, who contributed 17 runs, she added a valuable partnership that rebuilt the innings and laid the foundation for a late surge.

The momentum shifted decisively in the final overs. Jannillea Glasgow played a brilliant knock of 42 from 25 balls, striking seven boundaries, while Henry provided the finishing touch with an unbeaten 33 off just 17 deliveries. The pair combined for a rapid 65-run partnership that propelled West Indies to an impressive 199/6 from their 20 overs. Despite the defeat, Pakistan had a milestone moment asSundhu claimed her 74th wicket in Women’s T20Is, moving past Sadia Iqbal and becoming Pakistan’s third-highest wicket-taker in the format.

Pakistan’s pursuit of 200 got off to the worst possible start as Henry made an immediate impact with the ball. She dismissed both Muneeba Ali and Ayesha Zafar early, while Gull Feroza‘s wicket left Pakistan struggling at 28/3 within the opening four overs. Saira Jabeen attempted to shift the momentum with an aggressive counterattack. She struck four boundaries in a single over against Ashmini Munisar and raced to 30 runs before falling on the final delivery of the Powerplay.

Iram Javed added 24 runs and tried to rebuild alongside Shamim and Aliya Riaz. However, a couple of untimely run-outs prevented Pakistan from establishing a meaningful partnership during the middle overs.

Fatima Sana’s late assault not enough for Pakistan

Riaz kept Pakistan in the contest with a well-crafted 37 off 28 balls, showcasing her attacking intent with five boundaries. After her departure, captain Fatima Sana entertained with a spirited cameo, smashing 27 runs from only 14 deliveries that included two sixes and a four. Despite the late resistance, Pakistan’s chase never fully recovered from the early setbacks. They finished on 174/8 after 20 overs, falling 25 runs short of the target.
