Ayo, TWICE did NOT come to play. The nine-member K-pop group kicked off Day 1 of their THIS IS FOR World Tour in Amsterdam, and by every account it was a full-on night for the city and for the fandom.

The official TWICE Instagram account posted about the show with a caption that kept it real simple: “Nothing but good vibes and ONCE tonight ✨” Short and sweet. That kind of update tells you the room was exactly where it needed to be.

For those not in the know, ONCE is the name of TWICE’s global fanbase. And “dedicated” might be underselling it. The group’s Instagram post pulled over 183,000 likes. For a single concert update, that’s strong engagement. The ONCE community showed up in full force in Amsterdam. ONCE has been doing this for years.

The name of this tour doesn’t need much decoding if you’re ONCE. THIS IS FOR is the kind of title that lands different when you know how deeply TWICE credits their fans. Take that however you will.

Amsterdam is the European launch pad for THIS IS FOR, and it was a fitting choice. K-pop’s footprint in Europe has grown seriously over the past few years. TWICE has been one of the acts at the front of that push, and Amsterdam Day 1 put a stamp on it.

TWICE formed under JYP Entertainment in 2015 with nine members, and that lineup hasn’t changed. Over a decade later, they’re still filling venues across multiple continents. The group has put out multi-platinum releases throughout their career. Their fanbase spans South Korea, North America, Europe, and beyond. That kind of staying power is hard to pull off in K-pop. The genre moves fast and doesn’t slow down for anyone.

THIS IS FOR is their latest major global run. The group has done big international circuits before. The READY TO BE tour hit arenas in North America, Asia, and Europe. They know how to pace a global schedule. Amsterdam Day 1 looks like a strong opening move.

Day 1 is done, but the tour has a lot of road left. More European dates are still ahead on the THIS IS FOR schedule. The crowd at home has been following every update. The reactions coming in are all positive.

What’s clear from the Amsterdam kickoff is that TWICE’s momentum is solid. The ONCE fanbase travels and fills rooms. Based on everything coming out of Amsterdam’s opening night, THIS IS FOR is off to a strong start.

ONCE better buckle up. This tour’s got a long road ahead.
