Comedian Rosie O’Donnell is the last celebrity you would expect to get a facelift. In fact, she would be the one poking fun at the procedure in her stand-up routine. Yet, she revealed in a social media post that she had secretly gone under the knife against her child’s wishes.
Despite leaving The View years ago, Rosie O’Donnell is still close to some of the show’s hosts. Therefore, they shared their reaction to the facelift. Ana Navarro spilled the real reason why the comedian had the procedure done. Keep reading to find out why.
The View Hosts Shocked By Plastic Surgery News
Rosie O’Donnell said in her Substack post that no one in her life noticed that she had a facelift done in secret. She also revealed that her youngest child, Clay, was strongly against their mom getting it done. However, her child was one of the main reasons why she ultimately went through with it.
The comedian wrote that she wanted her kids to know they live in a world where they have options and can make choices. Rosie O’Donnell, 64, chose to have a lower deep plane facelift that cost more than any car she’s ever owned, as she admitted on social media.
Joy Behar brought up her former co-worker’s facelift during Friday’s “Hot Topics” segment. “My friend Rosie O’Donnell is sharing how she was racked with guilt over her decision to get a facelift,” Joy Behar said. She added, “She says she just wanted to look more rested and less haunted, but she admits she used to be against women getting work done on their faces.
Rosie O’Donnell confessed that she used to believe facelifts were a “betrayal” of feminism and aging gracefully. Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines called her out for those beliefs. “It’s close to the whole tradwife vs. working woman, how we always talk about, well, is it bad, then, to want to be at home? It was always about choice,” Sara Haines said.
She made the argument that getting a facelift is what feminism is all about. “That’s where equality comes, that’s where the feminism really is. It’s individual choice that makes it powerful.” Sunny Hostin said she was “surprised” that Rosie O’Donnell thought facelifts equaled anti-feminism before she had one herself.

Ana Navarro Spills Real Reason Behind Rosie O’Donnell’s Facelift
Ana Navarro joined The View as a contributor in 2013. Rosie O’Donnell left the show for good in 2015. While they didn’t work together much, Ana reached out to the comedian before Friday’s episode. She revealed the real reason, according to Rosie O’Donnell, for the facelift.
“I said to her, ‘For me, being a feminist means doing something that makes you feel empowered and happy.’ And she said, ‘I wanted to do this because I was looking sad when I’m feeling so happy,’” Ana Navarro revealed about their conversation.
“It’s not like a dramatic thing where all of a sudden it looks like she’s from a different ethnicity. She looks like Rosie O’Donnell without the lines,” Ana Navarro added.
Rosie O’Donnell also said that losing 50 pounds was another factor in the decision to get a facelift. Losing a large amount of weight can leave the skin loose.
