Yesterday, during PlayStation’s State of Play, we got our first look at Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. If you were watching that trailer, you might have recognized that free-standing structure in the first 25 seconds of the trailer — that’s right, folks, it’s Toronto’s CN Tower.
Like previous Ace Combat games, Combat 8 takes place in the fictional world of Strangereal, which is a realm similar to ours but is different. Because Strangreal is based on our world, missions can take place in Yokohama, Japan and Singapore, and now it looks like Toronto is joining the list of cities.
That opening scene shows the Toronto city skyline from the POV of a plane that’s taken off from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, as you can see the waterfront, the islands and the tiny airport.

If you want to take part in some air-to-air combat and fly around, shooting other planes out of the sky, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve launches on October 2. If you purchase the Deluxe Edition, you can get early access to the title on September 28 at 3 pm PT/6 pm ET.
