Hong Eunchae posted a teaser on Instagram Wednesday, and K-pop timelines started moving immediately. The LE SSERAFIM member captioned it “intro of the year,” dropping hashtags for #MEOVV, #ELLA, and a tag nobody had seen before: #BOOMPALA. Two emojis – a set of eyes and a paw print – rounded out the post, and that was enough to send comment sections into full-on conversation mode.
The post pulled nearly 96,000 likes by the end of the day. For a pre-release tease with no release date and no formal announcement attached, that’s a genuinely strong early number.
MEOVV is Hong Eunchae’s sub-project, a creative lane she runs separately from LE SSERAFIM‘s main schedule. Within MEOVV, she goes by ELLA. The project launched in 2024, giving Eunchae her first dedicated solo platform under Source Music, the HYBE subsidiary behind LE SSERAFIM. No official statement from Source Music has accompanied the new tease.
“Intro of the year” is not a soft caption. That’s a declaration. The confidence in those four words is doing real work. Not a single note has dropped yet.
The hashtag driving most of the conversation is #BOOMPALA. It hadn’t appeared in any previous LE SSERAFIM or MEOVV content. Wednesday was the first time. Most people in the comments are treating it as a track title or project name. Source Music hasn’t confirmed anything either way, so it stays an open question for now.
Timing plays into this too. The tease landed right at the opening of June. That’s prime K-pop comeback season. Summer is one of the busiest stretches for Korean acts globally. Groups tend to stack releases during this window to catch festival buzz and peak streaming numbers. A tease landing now points to an early release window.
Hong Eunchae joined LE SSERAFIM as the group’s youngest member at its debut in May 2022 under Source Music. The group has grown into one of the top fourth-generation K-pop acts internationally, with a global following and a consistent run of releases across multiple years. Eunchae’s work as ELLA within MEOVV has carved out a separate creative identity alongside the group’s main catalog.
MEOVV’s concept leans character-driven. The project name is a nod to a cat’s meow, and the paw print emoji in Wednesday’s post fits neatly into that whole world.
Two questions are bouncing around right now: what is BOOMPALA, and when does it arrive?
That caption is a confident call for a Wednesday afternoon teaser. But the early numbers say people are ready for it. A fresh hashtag and that kind of energy? That hits different.
