Square Enix has unveiled the highly-anticipated third and final instalment in its Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, and it’s officially called Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
In the first-ever trailer shown off at Summer Game Fest 2026, we see a first look at the full open-world gameplay, explorable via Highwind airship, as well as the first footage of new playable characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind. A spring 2027 release window for all platforms was also confirmed. That’s particularly notable since the Remake series has had timed exclusivity on PS4 and PS5 at launch, but now, it’ll come to PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S right on day one.
Additionally, Rebirth launched in February 2024, so this will be just over three years after. Notably, 2027 also marks the 30th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy VII.
