Christian Eriksen suffered another collapse on the pitch on Sunday afternoon, but thankfully the Dane was able to walk off the pitch with his team-mates as the match was abandoned.

The 34-year-old clutched his chest and fell to the ground in the second half of Denmark’s friendly against Ukraine in Odense.

Players from both teams immediately formed a huddle around him while medics rushed to treat him.

Denmark’s national team doctor Morten Boesen confirmed that Eriksen was briefly unconscious but regained consciousness quickly.

The Danish Football Union subsequently issued a statement confirming he was “conscious and doing well under the circumstances.” He was taken to hospital for further checks.

Eriksen received treatment on the pitch for approximately 13 minutes before getting back to his feet, at which point the crowd inside Nature Energy Park gave him a standing ovation.

Norwegian referee Sigurd Smehus Kringstad called the game off in the 79th minute. Denmark were leading 2-1 at the time, with Manchester United’s Patrick Dorgu having scored a wondergoal to open the scoring.

Croatia 2-1 Slovenia: Modric still top dog

Luka Modric was in fine form and opened the scoring in the 51st minute as Croatia took control of a Balkan derby that had a fair bit of edge to it.

Slovenia struck back through Slovan Bratislava forward Andraz Sporar in the 83rd minute to make it nervy, but the Croats had the final say.

Mario Pasalic settled it with a stoppage-time winner, firing to the top corner to send the home crowd home happy.

Italy had to work harder than expected, but a first-half goal from Francesco Pio Esposito was enough to secure a narrow win over Greece.

The Azzurri forward controlled, spun and finished off the post in the 18th minute to give Italy the lead they would never surrender.

Italy are absent from the 2026 World Cup, giving their summer little weight other than for new coach Silvio Baldini to try and rebuild the Azzurri from the ground up.

Morocco 1-1 Norway: Odegaard equaliser not enough

This was a great watch ahead of a potential World Cup meeting this summer.

Brahim Diaz opened the scoring inside eight minutes, slotting past the Norwegian goalkeeper after a sharp assist from Abde Ezzalzouli to give Morocco the early lead their pressing deserved.

They looked the better side for long stretches. The Atlas Lions arrive at this tournament having won four of their last five, including a 4-0 thumping of Madagascar last Monday.

But Norway refused to fold, though. Martin Odegaard levelled in the 75th minute to earn his side a deserved share of the spoils.

Morocco face Brazil, Scotland and Haiti in Group C. Norway take on Iraq, Senegal and France in Group I.
