Chris Pratt marked his seventh wedding anniversary with a short message on Instagram today, and given the movies he makes for a living, it was a lot more down-to-earth than you might expect.
Posting to his Instagram account, Pratt wrote: “Grateful that I get to share this lifetime with you. Happy 7 years, Darling!” That’s the whole message. Sincere and direct, with no big production behind it.
The couple married on June 8, 2019, at a private ceremony in Montecito, California. They had announced their engagement in January of that year. They’d gone public as a couple just months before that, in mid-2018. Seven years later, they’ve built a full family. Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger share daughters Lyla Maria, born in 2020, and Eloise Christina, born in 2022. Katherine has also stepped into a stepmom role for Pratt’s son Jack, his child with ex-wife actress Anna Faris.
What makes this anniversary worth talking about goes beyond the post itself. Pratt has spent the last decade building one of the more unusual careers in Hollywood. He started as Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation – a goofy, lovable slacker. The character had no business being as charming as he was. Then Pratt physically transformed for Guardians of the Galaxy and became Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord. The role turned him into one of Marvel’s most recognizable faces. He carried that character through three films, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 wrapping up the trilogy in 2023. Along the way came Owen Grady in Jurassic World, Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and multiple runs through the Avengers franchise.
His career path goes from former athlete to superhero to video game icon. It honestly doesn’t make logical sense until you lay it all out. But that’s kind of the Pratt thing. He takes characters who look shaky on paper and makes them stick.
Off-screen, Pratt has been consistent about what matters most to him. He’s talked in past interviews about his Christian faith, his love of the outdoors, and how much he values family time. An understated anniversary post fits that picture completely. Star-Lord delivers grand speeches in space. In real life, Pratt tends to say what he means and leave it there.
Katherine Schwarzenegger is no background figure in this story. She’s the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. She’s also a published author with multiple books to her name, and a known advocate for pet adoption and animal welfare. The two have spoken openly about keeping their family life grounded and away from Hollywood’s noise.
Seven years is a milestone worth acknowledging. In celebrity relationships, it’s a long run by any measure. These two have stayed steady through busy careers, a growing family, and constant public attention. Pratt still calls her “Darling.” That says everything.
No word yet on how they’re spending the day. A quiet celebration seems likely. That’s very on-brand for this particular Star-Lord.
