Knicks Player Breaks Silence On Kim Kardashian Dating Rumors, Her Awkward Requests
Kim Kardashian was briefly married to Kris Humphries. They tied the knot in 2011, but she filed for divorce 72 days later. He had retired from the NBA a few years before their short-lived romance after 13 seasons in the league. She married rapper Kanye West in 2014, but they split in 2021. They co-parent their four children. She’s currently dating race car driver Lewis Hamilton.
Between her marriages to Kris Humphries and Kanye West, Kim Kardashian allegedly reached out to the New York Knicks to get one of their biggest stars on her reality show. Jeremy Lin was an NBA sensation in the 2011-2012 season. The undrafted Harvard graduate led the team to seven consecutive wins.
The point guard outplayed NBA legends like Kobe Bryant and Kim Kardashian reportedly wanted a piece of his fame. Jeremy Lin was on the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast this week to look back at the crazy time in his life. “The request did come in to the Knicks, and that is a real request,” he said.
He continued, “I think basically, she at that time was filming her show—I don’t know if it’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians or whatever show was happening back then—but I know that she was looking for a New York athlete to be on this show, essentially.”
Why Romance Never Happened
Jeremy Lin retired from basketball in 2025. He spent 9 seasons in the NBA before ending his career in Taiwan. He never got a chance with Kim Kardashian because the Knicks shut it down immediately.
“The request came into the Knicks and they immediately declined it without even asking us. They were like, ‘We’re not allowing our young second-year player to go down this route right now,’” he shared. He was told about it all afterward. However, rumors of a romance between the two did make it to the press. He was asked about it during an interview with ESPN in 2012.
“You don’t think you’re the Kim Kardashian type?” reporter Rachel Nichols asked him. “No, I don’t think I’m that type,” he responded. If the Knicks management hadn’t stopped the request, who knows what could have happened. Jeremy Lin has been happily married for a few years now and welcomed a child in 2024.
