Alaskan Bush People finished its original run a few years back. However, there’s has been some back and forth about the show’s status over the years. Recently, Bear Brown took to social media to ask fans about what they would think about the show’s possible return.
Alaskan Bush People Finished Its Original Run Back In 2022
Viewers were first introduced to the Brown family through Alaskan Bush People. The Discovery Channel series, which originally ran from 2014 to 2022, explored the family as they lived off the grid around Hoonah, Alaska.
Bear Brown is the middle son of Ami and the late Billy Brown. Since the show finished its original run, Bear has continued to share updates with fans on social media.
Since the show’s original run, fans have seen multiple changes occur within the family, including births, deaths, and relationship ups and downs. Tragically, last month, Bear’s older brother Matt was found dead at the age of 43 after a much-publicized search.
As previously reported, Bear has taken issue with sources referring to the show as being cancelled. In the past, he has emphasized that the show is on “hiatus.”
Recently, Bear took to social media to ask fans if they would be interested in watching a revival of the show. As he noted, this doesn’t necessarily have to air on the show’s previous network.
Taking to Facebook, Bear wrote, “Would you watch a new season of Alaskan Bush People, if it wasn’t on Discovery?” Included in the post was a nostalgic image of Bear with his family sitting around a campsite.
Fans Suggested A Possible Revival Didn’t Even Need To Air On Television
Fans shared mixed reactions to the idea. As some noted, it wouldn’t be the same with the losses that the family has endured over the years, including Billy and Matt.
On the other hand, some fans appeared more receptive towards the idea. A few even felt that the show didn’t necessarily have to air on television.
Others suggested that Bear could show up on other shows. Some comments included:
- “Yes , but i think your family with the loss of your dad and brother needs a break out of the light for a bit and heal , then take on new ventures … be well …”
- “Do it like Fowler did it from the show ‘Alone.’ Used his money made a really successful YouTube channel and you could do it your self brotha…good cameras make everything look good..”
- “Well heck yea I would. It shouldn’t matter what platform it’s on as long as it’s authentic and still has the old shows tone to it…”
- “Wouldn’t be the same. Maybe a small mini series on what each of you are doing. Maybe sign up for ‘Alone’ and show folks how good you can survive!”
- “Wouldn’t be the same and they should show how to trap and survival episodes showing kids the dangers in the woods and teach them how to make fire and build shelter or log cabins for younger generation.”
