This Is Lorelei has announced his new album, The Singer In My Band, out Sept. 11 via Matador.
The record follows a whirlwind time for Nate Amos, who spent part of the year supporting Hayley Williams on tour as one-half of Water From Your Eyes. Life on the road is the throughline across the songs on The Singer In My Band.

“The ideas incubated while daydreaming in the car without access to any instruments,” he says. “Instead of being home and writing on the guitar or a computer, they developed slowly and subconsciously, existing as a sort of intangible thing while looking out the van window.”
Previewing The Singer In My Band is “Billy Came Back,” a song that introduces Billy as one of a handful of unreliable narrators — including Joey, Genevieve, Sarah, and Buddy — who share stories set across America that mirror Amos’ experiences over the past few years.
“I sent my dad the album after I finished it, and he said it was kind of an On the Road album, and that reframed it for me,” Amos says. “It really is like a collection of chaotic experiences that you have while traveling. They’re also very much little works of fiction with elements of truth to them.”
