Back in March, Porter introduced a temporary $40 fuel surcharge for VIPorter reward flight redemptions to offset global aviation fuel prices that had doubled.
At the time, the airline said that its goal was to remove the surcharge when the price of fuel reached levels seen at the beginning of this year and now, it is moving in that direction.
As the fuel market has started to normalize, Porter said that it has reduced the fuel surcharge to $20 for new reward flight bookings made starting now.
Noting that fuel prices remain approximately 50% above last year, it said that it continues to monitor the situation and will make further adjustments as conditions change.
