OpenSignal has released its national fixed broadband experience findings for the period Feb. 1 to May 1, 2026. This time around, Bell and Rogers claimed most of the categories.

Essentially, Bell would claim the Reliability, Consistent Quality, and Upload speed categories, while Rogers would claim the Download Speed and Video categories. Interestingly, Telus would not claim any categories this time around.

In terms of reliability, Bell would claim the top spot with a score of 789 (out of 1000), with Rogers right behind at 776, while Telus finished at the bottom with 756. Moving to consistent quality, Bell would claim it with 88.2 per cent of users’ tests meeting the threshold, while rogers was right behind with 87.6, while Telus ended with an 84.5 per cent.

Heading over to download speed, Rogers would claim the category with 270.0 Mbps, while Bell would be a bit behind at 242.7 Mbps. Telus would be barely in the 200s, at 202.1 Mbps. Meanwhile, Bell would dominate in upload speed, recording 173.1 Mbps, while Telus would be second at 17.0 Mbps. Interestingly, Rogers would fall behind, recording only 83.0 Mbps.

Video would be close, with Rogers claiming it with 78.5 points out of 100. Bell and Telus would be only 0.2 points behind Rogers, ending with 78.3. To add some context, OpenSignal scores telecom providers using a Mean Opinion Score calculated from several parameters, including the time to start playing the video, video quality, the time spent at each resolution, and time spent re-buffering.

Now, although Telus wouldn’t claim any overall categories, they would win categories in specific provinces. For example, Telus ended up having the best upload speed in both Alberta and British Columbia. Speaking of British Columbia, Telus would claim multiple categories in the province outside of upload speed: a joint win with Rogers in reliability, and another joint win with Rogers in Video.

Interestingly, Quebec is the only province in which one telecom provider claims every category (Bell).
