What was once the picture-perfect family has taken several dark turns in recent years. Jon and Kate Plus 8 went off the air in 2009; however, the family has had explosive amounts of drama since. With his new memoir coming out, Collin Gosselin is ready to talk about relationships within the family. One of those being between his sister, Hannah, and his mom, Kate. Collin Gosselin Opens Up In New Memoir
Collin Gosselin recently revealed that he will be sharing his whole story with the world on October 13 in his new book, In The Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.
Apparently, the book is going to cover never-before-told stories about growing up with Kate as his mom and the suffering he endured. As previously reported, this has Kate freaking out.
“Collin hasn’t spoken to his mother since she abandoned him in an institution as a young child,” a source says. So, she didn’t know that the book was coming out until it was announced publicly. Needless to say, she’s panicking about what exactly the book will say about her.
“She didn’t expect any of this to ever come out. Now she’s spiraling because she knows it’s about to hit the fan,” the source continues.
While Collin has no relationship with his mom, that doesn’t mean his sister Hannah doesn’t.
Family Relationships
Since the family’s dramatic falling out, Collin and his sister, Hannah, have rekindled their relationship and moved in with their dad.
Now, despite all she’s done to them, Hannah wants to create a relationship with their mother. Of course, Collin is having a hard time dealing with this Page Six reports.
“What hurts me on that is that Hannah wants to fix the relationship with my mom; Hannah wants to get into the emotional and the feelings part of it because she cares about people,” he says.
He continues to talk about how Hannah differs from his mom. While Hannah wants to create a relationship, Kate is using Hannah for PR. As a brother, this is hard for Collin to watch unfold.
“For my mom, it’s going on social media. It’s going on TikTok and saying, ‘Oh, hi, just talked to Hannah today.’ So for Hannah, it’s a relationship, and for my mom, it’s a PR stunt, and that’s what really hurts me,” he reveals.
Collins’ theory is that because she has the safety and comfort of her dad, she feels safe enough to find that same thing with her mom.
“Now that she’s with my dad and she knows that my dad loves her and he’s never gonna leave her or throw her out on a limb or anything like that, I think she wants to now fix that relationship with my mom,” Collin speculates.
Of course, only time will tell if Hannah and Kate can truly create a relationship. Or if Collin is right and this is all about appearance for their mom.
