The Florida Panthers traded left winger A.J. Greer of Joliette, Quebec to the Anaheim Ducks according to Ryan Cuneo of Daily Faceoff on Monday. In return, the Panthers received defenseman and Anaheim’s captain this past season, Radko Gudas.
Greer is joining his sixth National Hockey League team. He previously played three seasons with the Colorado Avalanche (2016 to 2019), two seasons with the New Jersey Devils (2020 to 2022), one season with the Boston Bruins (2022 to 2023), one season with the Calgary Flames (2023 to 2024), and two seasons with the Florida Panthers (2024 to 2026). In 2025, Greer won a Stanley Cup with the Panthers.
In 2025-26. Greer had 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points in 78 games. He was a +14 with 113 penalty minutes, one power-play point, two game-winning goals, 104 shots on goal, seven faceoff wins, 29 blocked shots, 203 hits, nine takeaways and 52 giveaways.
Greer’s first game-winning goal came on January 12 in a 4-3 Panthers won over the Buffalo Sabres. Greer scored on an all-Canadian goal into an empty net with one minute and 14 seconds left in the third period to put the Panthers up 4-2 at the time. Carter Verhaeghe of Toronto, Ontario and Sam Bennett of Holland Landing, Ontario had the assists.
Greer’s second game-winning goal came on March 31 in a 6-3 Panthers win over the Ottawa Senators. Greer put the Panthers up 4-0 at 14:02 of the first period. Defenseman Donovan Sebrango of Ottawa, Ontario and Eetu Luostarinen had the assists.
Greer’s power-play point was a power-play goal. It came on April 15 in an 8-1 Panthers win over the Detroit Red Wings. Greer put the Panthers up 3-0 at 8:56 of the second period. Noah Gregor of Beaumont, Alberta and defenseman Ludvig Jansson had the assists.
