Zimbabwe continued their dominance over Bangladesh on the third day of the one-off Test in Harare, with their fielders matching the brilliance of the fast bowlers. After taking a commanding first-innings lead of 270 runs, the hosts struck early in Bangladesh’s second innings, and one sensational moment in the slips quickly stole the spotlight. With Bangladesh already under pressure, Brad Evans produced a spectacular catch to dismiss one of the visitors’ biggest batting hopes, leaving the touring side in even deeper trouble.

The stunning moment came in the 13th over of Bangladesh’s second innings. Blessing Muzarabani pitched a full delivery outside off stump that shaped away after landing, tempting Mominul Haque into an expansive drive away from his body. The left-hander could only manage a thick outside edge that flew quickly towards third slip. Stationed there, Evans reacted instantly, diving full stretch to his left before grabbing the ball safely with both hands just inches above the turf.

The spectacular catch sent Mominul back for 13 off 30 deliveries and handed Muzarabani his second wicket of the morning. Evans’ athletic effort immediately went viral on social media, with fans applauding one of the finest slip catches seen in recent times.

Zimbabwe register their biggest-ever Test victory

Zimbabwe went on to complete a memorable innings-and-85-run victory, registering the biggest win in their Test history. After piling up 410 in the first innings, courtesy of Innocent Kaia’s maiden Test century (140), the hosts bowled Bangladesh out for 140 and 185 to seal a comprehensive triumph inside three days.

Muzarabani starred with the ball, claiming 4/65 in the second innings, while Richard Ngarava picked up three wickets to wrap up the tail. The victory also marked Zimbabwe’s second successive innings win in Test cricket after defeating Afghanistan by an innings and 73 runs at the same venue in October 2025.

Kaia was deservedly named the Player of the Match for his outstanding knock of 140, while Zimbabwe’s pace attack created history by accounting for all 20 Bangladesh wickets, becoming only the second instance in the nation’s Test history where their seamers claimed every wicket in a match.
