Joe Rogan warns Trump’s war on Iran may hand Democrats the White House in 2028

Podcaster Joe Rogan warned this week that President Trump may have inadvertently cleared a path for a Democratic return to the White House in 2028 by launching a war in Iran that many of the president’s own supporters never wanted.

Speaking with guest Rupert Lowe, a right-of-center member of the British Parliament, on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Mr. Rogan argued that Mr. Trump had restored some normalcy since taking office but may have undercut his own party’s future by breaking a signature campaign pledge.

“This war is not something anybody that’s conservative wanted,” Mr. Rogan said, adding that most Americans are “horrified by the idea” since Mr. Trump was elected partly on a promise to avoid new wars.

Mr. Rogan credited the Trump administration with dismantling the U.S. Agency for International Development, which he and Mr. Lowe described as a vehicle for exporting left-wing ideology abroad. But he cautioned that a Democratic White House in 2028 would likely reopen the borders and revive the agency’s programs, telling Mr. Lowe it would be “business as usual.”

Mr. Lowe, who has criticized the Iran war from a British national-interest standpoint, told the podcast that “there’s only a reason to go to war if it’s going to benefit you.” He argued that leaders should prioritize the interests of their own taxpaying public before committing to foreign conflicts.

The exchange, first reported by Fox News, reflects broader public skepticism about the war’s costs. A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted last month found just 24% of Americans believe the conflict was worth its costs, while Mr. Trump’s overall approval rating fell to 34%, tying the lowest mark of his second term.

Mr. Rogan, who endorsed Mr. Trump ahead of the 2024 election and is widely credited with helping him win over younger male voters, has grown increasingly critical of the administration’s foreign policy in recent months.
