Marjorie Taylor Greene has made headlines with a few shares she’s made since her resignation from Congress. Recently, however, she has sparked a reaction after appearing to make a comment on the late Lindsey Graham on social media. Notably, the post came out less than a day after his death had been announced.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Shared A Response To A Social Media Post From U.S. Central Command

Serving as the U.S. representative for Georgia’s 14th congressional district, Greene was elected to Congress in 2020 following the retirement of Tom Graves. She was then reelected in 2022 and 2024.

However, Greene resigned from Congress earlier this year. She stepped down after a highly publicized falling out with President Donald Trump.

As noted by The U.S. Sun, Greene appeared to reference Graham while reacting to recent strikes on Iran ordered by President Donald Trump. Responding to a post from U.S. Central Command concerning the strikes, Greene appeared to write, “Lindsey Graham would be proud. RIP.”

The remark came out less than a day after Graham’s office announced that he had died following what was described as a “brief and sudden illness.” The Kentucky senator was 71 at the time of his death.

Many Took Issue With Greene’s Post On Social Media, Especially In Light Of Graham’s Recent Passing

Greene and Graham were known to have clashed over foreign policy. She has also become known for criticizing President Trump over the military action in Iran.

Greene’s post quickly sparked backlash online, especially concerning the timing. As noted by the outlet, one critic described her message as “hateful and spiteful.”

Some even compared and contrasted Greene and Graham’s political careers. However, there were commenters who came to Greene’s defense. Some comments included:

      • “Putin must be proud of you doing the Devil’s work! @FmrRepMTG Go to hell! Sen Lindsey Graham died having 1.5 million after 35 years of public service and serving our country, while @mtgreenee served in Congress for barely 5 years and left with 25 million!”
      • “At least Lindsey didn’t get rich, served his country and voted for the America first agenda. Never betrayed President Trump who has been fighting for us.”
      • “You do remember you’re going to die one day too?”
      • “Exactly how we’d expect you to act.”
      • “Marjorie Taylor Greene is right about one thing: Americans are tired of being dragged into endless foreign conflicts.”
      • “Really? Did you have to include him because he passed away unexpectedly, or just couldn’t wait to post a political jab?”
      • “Your true liberal self is now fully on display. So glad you revealed yourself.”
      • “Think they’ll let you back on The View to discuss??!”

    Lindsey Graham would be proud.
    RIP. https://t.co/xhTfpCxNBK
